Jerusalem is important to Christians becuase of Jesus' connection to the city.Jerusalem is where Jesus preached,where he healed people,and where he chased the traders out of the temple.In other words Jerusalem is basicaly where Jesus walked.

Jerusalem is important to the Jews becuase is a holy place of the Jews. They fought over it and got kicked out of several times. Jerusalem has been the religious center of Judaism since ancient times. The Jews even face Jerusalem when they pray. Jerusalem is important to the Jews because that is where the temple and it's tabernacle. All Jews try to go to Jerusalem at least once in there life. The events and the things of Jerusalem are what makes Jerusalem so important to the Jews.

Jerusalem is considered a sacred site in Islam but only for the Sunni Islams.In Islam it is said that previous prophets were associated with the city, and that the Islamic prophet Muhammad visited the city during a night time journey. Since Jerusalem had such significance Jerusalem was the first place the Muslims would face when praying.
